Experiences in Aszód Childern's Home (Reformatory)

Arriving to Aszód Children's Home

"My experiences in  Aszód Children's Home, was an unexpected journey. The first think that crossed my mind was that we were going to work with children. But… after arriving there and watching the iron structure decorating the windows, it gave me a sensation of a prison, and extremely unpleasant thoughts. Once inside, things changed by magic, paintings and sculptures everywhere, a living gallery, a house full of live and energy. The children were shy in the beginning, the group of children behaved well. They were actually teenagers. Compare with other groups, the group were I was, was good. We manage to establish a good connection with them. They enjoyed most of the games we play with them. They also enjoyed the playback theater methods, although for some teenagers it was easier to express, for the others theater and representation of emotions was harder. In the end the teenagers were not shy at all. They were speaking was much as they could, but still they were respectful and would pause their lungs to hear our words. It was an overwhelming experience, everyone enjoyed and waved goodbye with a true smile." David Rafael Silva
